Embed custom HTML code within posts
Last updated: September 26, 2023
With a custom HTML feature, you can add your own HTML code within a post. This helps you embed external content, media, and interactive elements in posts. In this article, we will go over some key details about this feature and how to add your custom code to the post.
Before adding custom HTML: What you should know
The custom HTML feature is available on Professional plans or higher.
Only admins can add custom HTML code on desktop or mobile browsers.
When users view posts in the Circle mobile apps, custom HTML won't appear within the post directly. Instead, they will see a See attachment button at the bottom of the post body. This button redirects them to a separate view that displays content embedded via HTML.
Any custom code you have added to the post won't appear in the email notification.
This is an advanced feature intended for users with technical expertise. We recommend restricting it to lightweight HTML code. Any errors or inaccuracies in your code may break your post or community. Therefore, exercise caution and ensure your custom HTML code is error-free.
It's important to note that our support team will not be able to provide assistance with troubleshooting or code-related issues in case of any complications.
Add custom HTML
While creating or editing a post, click Settings ⚙️ in the header of the post editor.
-
In the Custom HTML field, enter your code.
Once you’ve added the code, click Done to return to the post editor.
To ensure your changes are applied to an existing post, click Save. The result of this code appears at the bottom of the post.
Feel free to get creative and experiment with HTML code that you would like to include in a post. To test things out, you can also create a post in a secret space that is only accessible to you to see how it looks and functions. Once you're confident with it, you can move it to the desired location or duplicate it to another space to unveil it to your members.
