Link community content across different areas of your community
Last updated: September, 2026
Welcome to the world of entity links! With just a few keystrokes, you can easily link to different types of content within various parts of your community for seamless information sharing.
The entity link feature helps you save time and effort by swiftly linking to content using a Hashtag, without the hassle of manually inserting URL hyperlinks in text.
ℹ️ Note: Members and admins can use the entity link feature via desktop or mobile browser and the Circle mobile apps.
Eligible content for linking
With entity links, you can connect to a wide range of content. These include:
Spaces: Link to different community spaces, making it easy for your members to navigate to specific spaces.
Posts: Share published posts with precision by linking directly to them. Please note that drafts, scheduled posts, and posts without titles will be excluded from the list.
Events: Promote events by linking them using entity links that take members directly to event details. You can link to both upcoming and past events in your community.
Lessons: Provide quick links to specific course lessons. It's important to note that you can only link to published lessons within your courses. If a member is not part of the course space, they won't have access to the lesson. For open courses, consider linking the course space so that members can join the space and access lessons.
ℹ️ Note: If you link content from a private space, non-members will be directed to the lock screen. In the case of secret spaces, non-members will be redirected to the default landing page of your community.
Community areas that support linking
Entity links can be used in a variety of community areas, including:
Individual and group DMs
Chat spaces
Posts
Comments
Lock screen descriptions
Course lessons and their comments
Live chat
Emails (available with Email Hub)
Create a link to the content
To use the entity link feature, follow these steps:
In the text editor, type the hashtag #️⃣ key followed by your desired search term. Alternatively, if you are linking content in chat or post, you can click the #️⃣ button located at the bottom of the editor.
Entity links will instantly suggest relevant content as you type. Select the content you'd like to link from the results.
ℹ️ Note: As a member, you can only link spaces or their content from either the open space the space you are a member of.
Once the entity link is added to your message, it will appear in blue. Members can click the entity link to open the content on a new browser tab.
💡 Tip: To remove the content link, simply use the backspace or delete functionality on your keyboard.
How do changes to the content affect entity links?
When you modify the content, such as changing the title of the post, lesson, or a space, the entity links will automatically reflect the change. Similarly, if you move your content to a new location within your community, the entity link will direct members to the updated content location.
If the content you have linked is removed from your community, members will see a Content unavailable message instead of the title.
