Configure page settings
Last updated: October, 2026
You can customize the page using the Page settings panel in the website builder. From naming your page to controlling access and visibility, these settings help you tailor the experience for your audience.
Accessing the page settings
Click Website in the left sidebar, then select Pages.
Hover over the page you want to edit and click More actions (three dots) and select Edit page.
Click Page settings in the left sidebar.
This panel lets you customize how your page looks, who can access it, and how it performs online. Let’s dive into each section.
General
These settings help you define the basics of your page.
Page name
Add an internal name for your page. This name isn't visible to visitors but helps you identify and manage your pages behind the scenes.
Status
The Status dropdown helps you control whether your page is visible to your audience.
Draft: The page is hidden from all visitors and is only accessible in the builder. Use this while you’re still designing the page.
Published: The page is live and visible to the audience you select in the Access control settings (see below).
Access control
The access control settings let you decide who can view your page. This is crucial for tailoring your content to specific audiences, whether it’s the general public or a private group.
Open
This option makes your page accessible to anyone with the link, ideal for public content like a landing page or membership pricing page.
For added security, you can enable the Password protection toggle. Set a custom password and share it with your intended audience. When users land on the page, they will be prompted to enter the password to view it.
Members only
Only logged in members of your community can view the page. Visitors who aren’t signed in won’t see it. This helps you make the page exclusive for your community members.
Access groups
Choose this option to allow only members of access groups to view this page. You can add one or more access groups.
To select an access group, click the dropdown menu, type the name of the access group, and select from the list. To add more, repeat the same steps.
Layout
To create a cleaner experience for visitors, enable the Hide header toggle. Non-members see a streamlined page without navigation, while logged-in members retain access to the full top navigation bar for seamless community exploration.
You can use this option for focused pages, such as promotional landing pages.
SEO
Optimize your page to improve its visibility in search engine results, driving more traffic.
Search engine indexing: Enable the Let search engines index this page toggle to allow search engines to include the page in their results.
Title tag: Add the title tag (up to 55 characters) that appears in search engine results and browser tabs. Include primary keywords and keep it concise to avoid truncation in search results.
Meta description: Enter the meta description (optimally 155–300 characters), which is a brief summary displayed below the title in search results. Incorporate relevant keywords naturally and ensure the description is engaging.
Canonical URL: Set a canonical URL if the same or similar content appears on multiple pages. This informs search engines which page should be considered the primary source to prevent duplicate content issues.
URL slug
The URL slug is the customizable part of your page’s web address. For example: [your community URL]/about, where about is the slug.
❗ Important: Pages you create don’t have their own separate domain or subdomain. They will use your community’s domain. For example, if your community URL is “community.domain.com” and you set the page slug to “about-us,” the page will be at “community.domain.com/about-us.”
By default, the page name will be taken as a slug. You can edit it anytime by entering a custom value in the Slug field.
Use the following guidelines to ensure your page URLs are clean, SEO-friendly, and function properly across all browsers and systems.
What's allowed:
You can use the following when creating a slug:
lowercase letters (a-z)
Numbers (0-9)
Underscores (_) to separate words
Hyphens (-) to separate words
Forward slashes (/) to create nested paths
Maximum length of 64 characters
What's not allowed:
Uppercase letters (A-Z)
Spaces
Special characters and symbols (@, #, $, %, &, , etc.)
Empty slugs
Examples of valid slugs:
about-us
products/electronics
blog/my_first_post
contact_info
page-123
Examples of invalid slugs:
My-Page → contains uppercase letters
my page → contains spaces
my@page → contains special characters
my.page → contains a dot
my&page → contains an ampersand
Empty field
Best practices:
Use hyphens (-) instead of underscores for better SEO.
Keep slugs short, descriptive, and readable.
Use forward slashes (/) to organize related pages (for example, help/getting-started).
Avoid random numbers unless they have meaning (for example, version-2).
Social share
Control how your page appears when shared on social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, or X.
Social page title: The title displayed when the page is shared on social media.
Social page description: A short description shown in social media previews.
Open Graph image: Upload an image to display when the page is shared on social media. We recommend the size 1200x630.
These settings help ensure your shared links look polished and informative on social platforms.
Custom code
The Custom code section allows advanced users to inject code snippets for enhanced functionality or styling.
Head code: Injects code just before the </head> tag. Ideal for custom fonts, CSS, or meta tags.
Footer code: Adds code right before the </body> tag. Useful for analytics scripts or additional JavaScript.
❗Important: This is an advanced feature and intended for developers only. Custom code snippets can sometimes lead to unexpected issues due to errors in your code and may result in your page becoming non-functional. Please note that our support team will not be able to provide assistance with troubleshooting code-related issues.
