About the overview dashboard
The overview dashboard provides a quick snapshot of your community’s performance, including member activity, engagement, and traffic.
This dashboard allows you to quickly assess the overall health of your community and helps you answer questions like:
What is the current status of member-related metrics, such as active members, inactive members, and those who have yet to join the community?
How well do members score in terms of their activity at a community level using activity scores?
When are your members most active, and from where are they accessing the community?
Who are your top-performing members?
Access analytics overview
To access the overview dashboard, click Analytics in the left sidebar, then select Overview.
Optimize dashboard usage with the following options
Member type: Filter analytics data by roles within your community. By default, the member option is selected, which includes both member and moderator roles. You can choose to include admin roles in the analytics data by selecting the admin option in the filter menu.
Filters: Utilize filters to segment your data by member tags, profile fields, join dates, and more.
Data sorting: Sort data within leaderboards and the heat map by clicking column titles. Depending on the data type, you can sort by value (lowest to highest) or alphabetically.
Previous period comparison: View how current metrics compare to fixed historical comparison periods (rolling 30-day or 90-day views, or year-over-year monthly comparisons) directly within supported charts. Comparison details appear on the metric itself, or on hover for visualizations like heat maps and country distributions.
Highlight graph data: Hover over the values in the graph to enhance your viewing experience. This will highlight the relevant bars/data points within the graph for better visibility. When relevant, you can also see detailed data for the particular bar or data point on hover.
💡 Tip: You can export the CSV file for 30-day new members, 30-day active members, and 30-day inactive members by clicking the CSV dropdown located in the upper-right corner.
Member activity
The member-related activity metrics in the overview dashboard help you understand how engaged your community members are.
ℹ️ Note: Member activity metrics, including DAU, MAU, and active session tracking, are measured using real-time, client-side tracking for improved accuracy. Learn more about how this works here.
ℹ️ Note: When viewing member metrics with the member type filter set to Member, it includes both member and moderator roles. We recommend not comparing analytics data (such as new or active members) with the Members tab on the Manage audience page, as it only considers the member role.
Total members
This metric indicates the total number of members in your community who have confirmed their accounts. This metric only considers members who have completed onboarding by signing up for the community and completing the steps to set up their accounts.
Active members
This is the total number of members who have visited your community in the last 30 days.
MAU
Monthly active users percentage is a metric that indicates the proportion of members who actively log in to your community over a month, relative to your total members.
This is one of the key metrics that helps you answer the following:
What content strategies and systems are successful in bringing members back into your community? Monitor MAU to spot spikes after a big event, new content launch, or other initiatives. This helps you understand what drives engagement and what keeps members coming back.
Are there any patterns that appear in the MAU over time? Establish a baseline MAU and monitor trends to identify patterns in user activity and engagement levels. Over time, you may notice certain times of the year affecting MAU. You can use this information to reorganize or revamp your strategies to better align with these patterns.
Daily active members
The daily active member metric is the average number of members who visited your community each day over the last 30 days. This metric provides a snapshot of the average number of members who log in to your community each day, allowing you to track engagement patterns over time.
Inactive members
This metric indicates the number of members who have completed the onboarding process but haven’t visited your community in the last 30 days.
Invitation pending
This is the number of members who haven’t finished their onboarding or set up their accounts yet.

Activity scores
Activity scores are part of our Community AI feature, which uses a machine learning model to provide valuable insights into community engagement and the impact of content within your community.
If you are subscribed to our Business plan or above, you can view member activity scores on an aggregate level for how your community scores across the factors you have enabled in the Community AI settings:
Presence
Participation
Contribution
Connection
The activity scores at the community level are updated every two weeks and reflect data from the last 30 days.
This community-level activity score allows you to:
Monitor engagement: Track overall community engagement and identify trends over time.
Evaluate content effectiveness: Access the effectiveness of your content and initiatives.
Refine strategies: Use insights from activity scores to refine your engagement and content strategies.
Popular day & time
The popular day and time graph is designed to provide you with this insight by showing a visually engaging heat map that shows days and times when the most number of members had an active session over the last 90 days within the overview dashboard. This graph is shown in your local time zone.
This graph represents the number of active members using color intensity, allowing you to quickly and easily identify the most popular times and days your community is most active.
Days of the week: Displayed along the horizontal axis, showing each day from Sunday to Saturday.
Hours of the day: Displayed along the vertical axis in one-hour increments.
Color coding: Darker shades indicate a higher number of active member sessions, while lighter shades represent lower member sessions.
💡 Tip: For more insights into popular days and times at a granular level, navigate to the members or events dashboards, where you can utilize filters and a date range to narrow down the data.
Here’s how you can get the most out of the popular day and time graph:
Identify peak times: Pinpoint the most active times and days when member activity is at its highest.
Schedule content: Post new content during peak active times to ensure it reaches the largest audience. This can significantly increase content visibility and engagement within your community.
Plan events: Organize various events when your members are most likely to be active within the community to boost attendance and participation. This could not only help you reach broader audiences but also provide more feedback and insights into how well they receive your content.
Optimize resources: Align your community team schedule with peak activity periods to provide timely responses and support, improving member satisfaction.
Member distribution by country
This map provides valuable insights into where your members are located and how they are spread across different regions. It shows the distribution of members by the country associated with their IP address.
Monthly new members
This graph shows the trend in the number of new members who have completed onboarding and set up their accounts each month over the last 12 months.
