About Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to your account. When you sign in to a community, you'll enter your password and then verify your identity with a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your email. Even if someone has your password, they won't be able to access your account without that code.

Availability

2FA is available for all community members and moderators.

Enable two-factor authentication for your account

❗️Before you begin, it's important to note that enabling 2FA for your account applies to all communities you are a part of with that same email address.

To enable 2FA on your account:

  1. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner of the community header, then select Authentication.

  2. Under Account & security, locate the Two-step authentication and click Turn on.

  3. Enter the code that was sent to your email.

2FA is now active on your account! The next time you sign in, you'll be prompted to enter an OTP after your password.
