You have completed the [**first step of event creation**](/p/live-and-events/events/create-an-event-draft), and now it’s time to reveal the event in your community! In this article, we’ll go through the final step of event creation: publishing an event draft.

To get started:

1. Click **Community** in the left sidebar, then select **Spaces**.

2. Click the **space name** to open the event space, and click the **Draft** tab located in the event space header.

3. Click **More actions (three dots)** next to the event and select **Edit event**.

## **People**

The People tab is where you can add and manage your event attendees.

> ℹ️ **Note** : When you add members as attendees while your event is in draft mode, no notification emails will be sent. Notifications are only triggered based on the attendee's status when the event is published.

Here are some key things to know about adding attendees:

- **Automatic RSVP toggle** : You can toggle the [**Automatically RSVP invited attendees**](https://help.circle.so/p/live-and-events/events/add-members-to-an-event?locale=en#how-invites-or-rsvps-work-when-adding-members) to decide whether members you add are automatically RSVPd to the event or marked as invited.

- **Adding attendees** : : You can add individual community members, all members of a space or space group, or members assigned specific tags.

- **Adding co-hosts** : If you have opted for a live stream event, you can also add your member as a [**co-host**](/p/live-and-events/live-setup/invite-members-to-co-host-a-live-stream) here by heading to the **Co-hosts** tab. Please note that co-hosts cannot edit or manage the event; their role is restricted to the live event session.

- **Non-space member attendees:** If someone you add is not yet a member of the event space, they will automatically be added to the space, ensuring they can participate seamlessly.

To add event attendees, click **Add attendees**. Enter the member's name or the entity name, such as a space. Then select the desired members or entities from the list and click **Save**.

📚 To learn more about adding members to events, see our guide [here](https://help.circle.so/p/live-and-events/events/add-members-to-an-event).

## **Basic info**

You can update the following event details you had set when creating the event draft:

- **Cover:** To add a cover image:

- **Event title**

- **Description:** Craft the event description with various elements using the forward-slash (/) command or icons located in the description field. You can include text, [**embeds**](/p/basics/media-management/guide-to-embedding-media-in-your-community), attachments, audio, images, GIFs, and files in the event description.
💡 Tip: You can customize your uploaded video with options such as adding chapters, enabling transcriptions, and controlling download permissions. Hover over the video player, click the **Customize video (setup icon)** located in the top-right corner to access these options. For detailed steps, see [**Guide to video customizations**](/p/basics/media-management/video-customizations).

- **Topics** : You can assign new topics or remove existing ones from your event.

- **Host:** You have the flexibility to change the event host. You can assign any other admin as the host or add a member as a host to lead the event.

- **Event space:** To change the event space location, click the dropdown menu and select the space.

- **Custom URL** : The custom URL is automatically generated based on the event title when you create the draft. However, you can modify this slug to your preference.

- **Date & Time:** Modify the event's date and time as needed.

- **Location:** Adjust the location settings and configurations according to your requirements.

- **Default view:** Select whether you want the event's default view to be gallery or speaker view.

- **Visibility** : You can configure how notifications are sent to community members when the event is live.

- **Host controls**

- **Paywall** : If you are an admin, you can change the registration type (free or paid) while the event is in draft status. If you’ve selected a [**paid event**](https://help.circle.so/p/live-and-events/events/create-paid-events), you can update the price, currency, and checkout description before publishing the event.

> ℹ️ **Note:** It’s important to note that you can only configure **Repeats** schedule for recurring event when creating the draft. Once the event draft is created, you’re only able to modify date & time for individual events within a published recurring event series.

## **Notifications**

The notifications tab lets you customize the notifications for event publication and confirmation.

> 💡 **Tip:** If you would like to send custom push notifications or DM reminders for this event, you can take advantage of our [**workflows**](https://help.circle.so/c/workflows/) feature to set up a custom [**automation**](/p/workflows/workflow-setup/set-up-a-custom-automation-workflow), [**bulk action**](/p/workflows/workflow-setup/set-up-a-custom-bulk-action-workflow), or [**scheduled**](/p/workflows/workflow-setup/schedule-a-bulk-action-workflow) workflow.

### **Publish**

You can control the new event notifications for this specific event by toggling the **Send email notification to space members** option as per your preference.

> ℹ️ **Note:** If email notifications are disabled for new posts in your [event space settings](/p/live-and-events/events/customize-event-space-settings), you cannot override notifications for specific events. Also, this new toggle does not trigger notifications to members who have turned off notifications for your event space.

### **Confirmation**

You can enable automated email and in-app notifications that are sent when members RSVP to this event. **We recommend** keeping the confirmation email notifications turned on, as these notifications play a vital role in the [RSVP](https://help.circle.so/p/members/live-and-events/rsvp-and-attend-community-events) process.

In addition, you can customize the thank you message for event confirmation by turning on the **Customize thank you message** toggle. This customization extends to both event confirmation modal and email notifications.

To personalize your event confirmation:

1. **Modal title** : Update the default title to align with your preference.

2. **Modal description** : Add your custom thank you message in the description.

**Button title and link:** Customize the button title and insert a custom URL for the button.

**In-app reminder**

Enable the **Send in-app reminder an hour before the event** toggle to automatically send an in-app notification to attendees an hour before the event starts.

**Email reminders**

In addition to in-app reminder, you can enable the email reminders and create custom email reminder schedule for your event. This helps ensure your attendees never miss events.

To enable email reminders, turn on the **Send email reminders** toggle. A default email reminder schedule to be sent one hour before the event start time will be created. You have the flexibility to edit or remove this default reminder.

Add multiple reminders with custom email content and schedule by clicking **Add reminder**.

## **Publish event**

Now that you have finalized all the details, let’s preview the event and then publish it within the space!

> 🔔 **Notifications:** After publishing the event, space members will receive a notification about the new event based on their [**notification preferences**](/p/members/account-access-management/manage-your-notification-preferences)[.](/p/members/account-access-management/manage-your-notification-preferences) You can reset this notification preference for space members by visiting the event space settings. For more information, see[ ](https://help.circle.so/p/audience/notifications/manage-default-notification-preferences-for-space-members)[**Manage default notification preferences for space members**](https://help.circle.so/p/audience/notifications/manage-default-notification-preferences-for-space-members?locale=en#manage-notification-preferences-for-posts-images-and-events-space-members)[.](https://help.circle.so/p/audience/notifications/manage-default-notification-preferences-for-space-members)

When publishing a [**recurring event**](/p/live-and-events/events/create-recurring-events), you can choose from the following options:

- **This event** : Publish or save the draft only for the event with the initial start date. If you select this option, all the remaining event drafts for this series will be accessible to you via the **Draft** tab in the event space.

- **This and following events** : Publish this and the following events with the same information and configurations, _excluding previous events_ in this recurring event series\*.\*

- **All events** : Publish all events in the recurring event series with the same information and configurations.

- You are now all set! It's time to gear up for hosting an incredible event. 🎉
