If you’re planning to host a series of repeating events in your community, recurring events can save you a lot of time. Instead of creating the same event over and over, you can set up a whole series at once and manage them with flexible options.

## About recurring events

When you create an event, you can turn it into a repeating series. The series follows a schedule you choose based on the start date of the first event.

These are perfect if you run things like:

- Weekly Q&A sessions

- Monthly workshops

- Bi-weekly community meetups

You can decide on a repeating schedule with a range of options to choose from **based on the event start date** :

- Daily

- Every weekday (Monday to Friday)

- Every [specific day of the week]

- Bi-weekly on [specific day of the week]

- Monthly on [specific day of the month]

- Monthly on [date of the month]

- Annually on [date + month]

To end the event series, you can choose to:

- End it on a specific date.

- End after a number of occurrences.

> ℹ️ **Note:** A series can include up to **60 event occurrences ** in total. If you choose an end date, it must fall within the 60 occurrences allowed by your schedule.

## **Create a recurring event**

Start by [creating an event draft](https://help.circle.so/p/live-and-events/events/create-an-event-draft). In the event setup, go to the **When is the event?** section, and configure the following:

1. **Date & time** : Pick the date and time for the first event in the series.

2. **Repeats** : Using the dropdown menu, choose how often the event repeats. For example, if your first event is on a Wednesday, choose a weekly schedule to create events every Wednesday at the same time.

3. **Event ends** : Choose either an end date or a number of occurrences (up to 60).

After setting up the schedule, complete the remaining event details and save the event draft. This will create draft versions for all events in the series inside the event space.

When you publish any draft event, you can choose how far those changes go:

- **This event** : Publish only to the event draft you’re currently editing.

- **This and following events** : Publish the event draft you’re currently editing and all the future ones in the series.

- **All events** : Publish every event draft in the entire recurring series.

## Managing recurring events

You can manage recurring events the same way you would single events. This includes:

- Update events in the recurring event series and choose whether to apply those changes to the series, depending on the type of change.

- Delete just one event or the entire event series.

- Duplicate individual events part of the series.

## Managing attendees in recurring events

Here’s how you can add attendees yourself and how members can RSVP on their own.

### **How to add attendees manually**

Just like with a one-time event, you can manually add attendees to a recurring event. This allows you to either invite them or RSVP on their behalf, depending on the RSVP toggle setting you’ve chosen in the event setup (People tab).

Here are some key things to know:

- **Manual additions only apply to the specific event you’re editing:** If you add someone as an attendee, they’ll only appear in the attendee list for that single event, not across the entire recurring series. If you’d like to learn more, see [**Add or remove attendees from an event**](/p/live-and-events/events/add-members-to-an-event).

- **Auto-RSVP settings can add space members to the entire series for you:** If you’ve enabled the **Auto-RSVP space members to new events** toggle in your event space settings, all space members will automatically be added to new events, including recurring ones. For example, if you create a weekly recurring series after enabling this toggle, all space members will appear as attendees for every event in that series. Learn more about the toggle [here](https://help.circle.so/p/live-and-events/events/customize-event-space-settings?locale=en#update-general-information).

### How members can RSVP

When members [**RSVP**](https://help.circle.so/p/members/live-and-events/rsvp-and-attend-community-events) to a recurring event, they can select how many events in the series they’d like to attend.

- RSVP only to the one event they’re viewing.

- Select multiple future events in the series.

- Click **Select all** to RSVP to every event in the series in one step.

This flexibility lets members commit in the way that works best for them, whether that’s a single session or the full set of events.
