Add Meta & Google SDKs to your branded app
Last updated: March 6, 2026
Circle’s branded apps include the Meta and Google (Firebase) SDKs. Once configured, these allow you to track key “events” inside your branded app. Event tracking is typically used to understand how users discovered your app, measure marketing performance, and track key user actions in your app.
Currently, our SDKs tracks numbers of the following events:
App installs
Sign-up flow started (user clicked the sign up button)
Sign-up flow completed
Meta (Facebook) Setup
The steps below take place in Meta for Developers. Before you begin, please ensure that you have admin/developer access and are working in the correct Meta app for this project.
For a step-by-step guide through all three steps to locate the necessary Meta SDK credentials, you can watch this video or follow the steps below:
Step 1: Locate the App ID
Open the Meta app dashboard for the correct app.
Go to Settings → Basic.
Copy the App ID and send us the numeric App ID.
Step 2: Locate the Display Name
In the Meta app dashboard, go to Settings → Basic.
Copy the Display Name exactly as shown.
Send us the name exactly as it is shown, capitalization and spaces unchanged.
Step 3: Locate the Client Token
In the Meta app dashboard, go to Settings → Advanced.
In the Security section, locate the Client Token.
Copy and send the token value.
❗️Important: The Client Token is different from the App Secret. Please do not send us the App Secret.
Google Firebase
The steps below take place in your Firebase Console. While some files may look similar, these are not the same credentials you’ve provided for other parts of your app set up.
Step 1: Locate the GoogleService-Info.plist (for iOS apps)
📚 Here is a video guiding you through the steps outlined below.
In a web browser, navigate to Firebase Console.
-
Select your project.
Click on your app and then click the gear icon.
-
If you’ve already registered your iOS app:
Click into your app.
Under the Your apps card, look for the GoogleService-Info.plist download button.
Download the file.
-
If you haven’t registered your iOS app yet:
Click Add app → iOS.
-
Register the iOS bundle ID.
-
You can request the bundle ID from our team. Alternatively you can locate it in your account yourself. To locate the bundle ID:
In a web browser, navigate to App Store Connect.
Click into your app and then navigate to General → App Information → General Information → Bundle ID.
-
Complete the setup until Firebase offers the GoogleService-Info.plist download.
Step 2: Locate the google-services.json (for Android apps)
📚 Here is a video guiding you through the steps outlined below.
This step is also in your Firebase project console.
Select the Android app from the Your apps card.
-
If already registered:
Click into your Android app.
Find and download the google-services.json file.
-
If not yet registered:
Click Add app → Android.
-
Enter your Android package name.
This should be the same as the Bundle ID you located above. If you skipped that step, you can do the following to locate this in your Google Play Console account or request it from our team.
Click on your app. At the top of the screen under your app’s name, it will be the first line of text shown. The format will likely be com.appname.subdomain
Proceed through the setup until you’re given the google-services.json download.
Step 3: Locate the android_service.json (for service accounts / admin SDK)
📚 Here is a video guiding you through the steps outlined below.
In Firebase Console, click the gear icon → Project settings.
Go to the Service accounts tab.
Under Firebase Admin SDK, click Generate new private key.
This will download a JSON file (often named something like project-id-firebase-adminsdk-xxxxx-xxxxxxxxxx.json).
You can rename it to yourappname_android_service.json
Where to send these credentials
Once you collect the details above, please send them to branded-apps@circle.co and cc your Customer Success Manager.
If you send the credentials before your app is live: We’ll include them in the initial app review cycle.
If you send the credentials after your app is live: We’ll need to resubmit your app to both the App Store and Google Play Store for review.
