Create and manage redirects
Last updated: October, 2026
About the Circle redirects feature
The redirect feature allows you redirect pages built through Website builder to another URL. This is especially helpful when you’ve shared the page with your audience through marketing emails or other platforms and later decide to replace it or unpublish it.
Instead of letting the old link break, you can create a redirect that points it to a new one. Redirects can be set up even if the original page is unpublished, as long as it still exists in your community.

Key things to know about the Circle redirects feature
Here are the main things to keep in mind when using redirects in Circle:
-
You can redirect pages created with Website builder
You can create a redirect from pages whether they’re published or in draft. These redirects can point to another page or URL.
-
Redirecting other community content
You cannot create redirects from posts, events, courses or spaces. Only pages created through Website builder.
-
Redirects work with your current domain
Redirects identify the slug of the source page (the part after your domain). For example, a page at [yourcommunity.com/about-us] uses [/about-us] as the slug. If you change your community domain or sub-domain after setting up redirects, those redirects will no longer function.
-
Using a third-party service for redirects
If you change your community domain, you’ll need to use a third-party service like Cloudflare, which supports more flexible redirect rules to handle the redirects.
An example of where you might use a redirect
Let’s say you’ve created a page at yourcommunity.com/about-us to introduce your team and mission. This page has been shared with your audience and indexed by search engines.
Later, you design a new, improved page with a different structure, and publish it under a new slug, such as yourcommunity.com/meet-the-team. You don’t want to update the existing page, but you also don’t want to lose traffic from the old link.
To solve this:
Unpublish the /about-us page (set it to draft).
In the redirects section, create a redirect from /about-us to /meet-the-team (or any other valid URL).
This ensures:
Anyone clicking the old link will be taken to the new page.
No SEO or user experience is lost.
Everything continues to work seamlessly, regardless of where the old link is used.

Test the redirect
Testing a redirect ensures it works exactly as expected, sending visitors to the correct destination without errors or delays. It helps you catch issues like broken links, misconfigured URLs, or redirect loops before they affect your audience’s experience.

Click More actions (three dots) on the page you redirected and select Copy URL.
Paste the URL in an incognito window and press Enter.
You should be taken to the new URL.
