Activity scores provide insights into engagement and content impact within your community by benchmarking member activity data across all Circle communities.

This article explains how activity scores are generated and how to access them.

> ℹ️ **Availability:** Please note that only admins can view and manage activity scores from a desktop or mobile browser.

Activity scores allow you to:

- **Measure what matters:** Choose the factors aligned with your definition of measuring how engaged members are in your community, and use activity scores to understand how engaged your members are.

- **Act on what you learn: ** Identify and reward highly active members by expressing appreciation, assigning a special member tag, or inviting them to exclusive areas or events within your community. On the other hand, tailor your communication to less engaged members and make efforts to re-engage them. For example, you could set up a workflow to reach out to your non-engaged members with a compelling request or offer or simply to get some feedback.

## **Understand score generation**

Activity scores are assigned on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 representing the highest score. Our machine learning model updates the activity scores for all your members every ** **** _two weeks_**. To generate these scores, we analyze your member activity data over the last 30 days based on the following factors:

- **Presence:** Number of visits per day and number of days visited in the last 30 days.

- **Contribution:** Number of posts and comments (in posts and events) in the last 30 days.

- **Participation:** Number of likes on posts and comments, and event RSVPs in the last 30 days.

- **Connection:** Number of active DM conversations in the last 30 days.

Once analyzed, individual member data is benchmarked to member activity data across every other community on Circle, so scores are adjusted for relative levels of activity and seasonality.

When activity scores are enabled, all four factors are turned on by default. You can enable or disable the individual factor in the **Community AI** settings based on your preference. Doing so will add to or remove its contribution to the overall average activity score, which is updated in real time.

When you hover over the activity score assigned to the member, you’ll see a breakdown for each factor on a scale of one to ten. The final activity score is simply the average of these enabled factors.

> ℹ️ **Note:** It's crucial to note that the activity score for new members may take up to 44 days to appear in the community. During this time, the activity score will display as N/A for new members.
